Our Mission
In the US, there is an epidemic of First Responders and Veterans suffering from PTSD and depression, which can result in a variation of symptoms and even suicide. Many First Responders and Veterans witness traumatic events every day.
When a person goes through a traumatic event, the pituitary gland can become damaged. This causes hormone levels to be clinically low, resulting in fatigue, weight gain, imbalanced emotions, decreased focus and insomnia. When a person has these symptoms, they are typically prescribed opioids or anti-depressants. At PRIME Medical Group, we are here to help reverse those symptoms and ultimately eliminate any side effects associated with PTSD and depression by holistically treating the physical cause of the problem.

Awareness
The American Psychological Association defines trauma as, “an emotional response to a terrible event like an accident, rape or natural disaster. Immediately after the event, shock and denial are typical. Longer term reactions include unpredictable emotions, flashbacks, strained relationships and even physical symptoms like headaches or nausea.” (APA, 2017).
Traumatic events happen to people of all ages and most recover, although many suffer post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) months to years following the event/events.
In fact, it is often the case where keeping the traumatic events(s) secret actually propagates the growth of even more trauma or stress, which then becomes compounded over time. Efforts to maintain the secret can in and of itself become traumatic since a person needs to expend a lot of effort just to hide their emotions, especially big and intense emotions resulting from a traumatic event.

Mental Wellness
At PRIME Medical Group, we understand that people benefit from psychological therapy. Your mind, body and spirit are all interwoven as one. Sometimes, it is easier to talk to someone you don’t know but who understands what you are going through. That’s why we bring awareness to local Professional Counseling, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) and or non-profit organizations focused on First Responder mental health.
These groups are dedicated to providing “free and confidential” programs for all active and retired department members and their families. These units were established in order to assist department members in the management of the demands of their job, and its impact on their family and professional life.

Patient Registration
PRIME Medical Group visits local gyms, police and fire stations while hosting educational seminars across the nation. We bring awareness to the community and First Responders to show the relationship between being involved in a traumatic event and suffering from PTSD, along with depression, which can result in suicide.

PTSD and Car Accidents
Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder stemming from a traumatic incident, such as a car accident, which causes symptoms that impact daily life.
Physical injuries are often the focus of recovery efforts in the aftermath of car accidents, while the mental impact is largely ignored. PTSD is commonly associated with military combat veterans. Most people aren’t aware that the emotional trauma from car accidents can lead to post-traumatic stress disorder. In fact, car accidents are the leading cause of PTSD in the general population.
This debilitating mental injury often goes untreated because many car accident victims are unaware that they have post-traumatic stress disorder. One study showed that nearly half of all car accident victims experience PTSD. In the United States, 4.4 million people sustain injuries in car accidents serious enough to warrant hospitalization. This means as many as two million Americans experience PTSD from car accidents.
